Ostrow welcomed title favourites Rybnik on home soil yesterday in a what became a thriller.
Rybnik started out by getting into the lead in first couple of heats, and actually kept that led to around midway through the meeting. Ostrow then slowly started to climb their way back.
And Ostrow kept climbing and when they reached the last two heats they held a comfortable lead which in the end secured them their win by 47-42. Nicolai had a good meeting with 11 points in five rides.
“To come back from a slow start against one of the best teams in the league, was one hell of an effort. The track was really good, but you had to make decent starts and quick decisions in the first corner to get in the points. Luckily I did so and managed to get a couple of wins! Bit gutted about my last ride where I felt I had an issue with the bike, so I slowed up. A good win which takes us to the top of the table.”
Nicolai and Poole are doing a double header against Swindon today, first at home and then away in the evening.
