It has been a magnificent weekend for Nicolai, starting off with the SEC Challenge in Gorican and finishing with an away victory for Krakow.
We start in Gorican, Croatia. Saturday was perhaps this seasons most important for Nicolai personally, as he has had the SEC Series as one of his goals the last few seasons. It was great weather, but with a very dusty and thirsty track. But that did not seem to bother Nicolai, who despite a slow starts raced to three straight heat wins which proved enough to secure a third place finish after a run-off.
“What a night! I started off with a last place, but kept my head cool and focused on getting as many points as in possible in the last four rides. Not to score in my last ride was so frustrating, but again I showed what I’m made of this year by winning the run-off for third. I can’t thank my mechanics Piotr and Luke enough for their hard work again. I’m absolutely over the moon to be riding in this year’s SEC Finals.”
Sunday was another day of great and hot weather, this time in Gdansk, Poland. Krakow had a good meeting and ran away win an away win, which Nicolai contributed very well to, by scoring paid 11 points.
“It was the first time this year we rode in really hot weather, so I was getting a sweat on. I rode the exact same setup as we did the day before and it worked good! I’m happy about how things work at the moment and I can’t thank the people behind me enough for the help and support they show me!”
Next up for Nicolai is Tuesday in Sweden where Indianerna visit Piraterna. Tapes are up at 19.00 local time.
