Sunday ended with a win for Krakow against Daugavpils, whereas Indianerna suffered a home defeat against Lejonen.
Better late than never, to give You a report about the last two meetings for Nicolai. We start off Sunday where Krakow welcomed Daugavpils and secured a vital win to go joint top of the league. Nicolai had a decent meeting with paid 9 points.
“To win against Daugavpils and then go joint first in the league isn’t too bad. Unfortunately my own performance was only medio, even though I made some good starts. We were struggling with speed out of the corners where I was passed a couple of times, so there was a lot of head scratching going on. Now we know where we stand for next home meeting though.”
Next up was Sweden on Tuesday, as Poole’s away meeting against Wolverhampton got postponed due to rain.
Indianerna had a tough meeting against Lejonen, who proved too big a challenge as they defeated the Indians by 47-43. Nicolai had one of those meetings you would rather forget, failing to score in the two heats he was given.
“0 points is 0 points whether you ride one heat or five heats. I must put my hands up and say I chose the wrong bike – I had hoped my best engine would have worked better than it did. I didn’t ride too bad really, was a bit unlucky to get some lift in the last corner in front of Piotr Pawlicki in my second ride which cost me a couple of points. After the meeting I practiced on my other bike which felt much better, but a little too late. Just got to forget about this one and move on and not let one bad meeting ruin things”
Next up for Nicolai will be a visit to his old home track, when Poole visit Leicester tomorrow, Saturday.
