Yesterday Poole pulled off a sensational comeback against Somerset, to secure their spot in the Premiership final.
It was a rollercoaster of a night yesterday. At one point Poole were down 12 points on aggregate. But then they started to claw their way back. Finally in heat 15, they secured their spot in the final via a 4-2 heat advantage, which was secured by a last bend pass by Chris Harris.
This means that Poole will face King’s Lynn in the final, who secured their spot by beating Belle Vue comfortably.
Poole won the meeting 47-43 and Nicolai topscored with paid 14 points.
“Personally I had a great night with paid 14 points and in all my heats I really tried to get my teammates with, making sure we always got points. To be involved in a heat 15 like the one that secured us a spot in the final in something I won’t forget for a long time.”
“I’m very confident we can beat King’s Lynn. We beat them overall both times this season, so no doubt we can do it again. We are a team full of people who doesn’t give up, with an awesome team spirit.”
Next up for Nicolai is in Poland on Sunday, where Ostrow are looking to defend their 4-point lead, at home against Pila.
