Poole took the long journey up to Manchester for their away meeting against Belle Vue on Monday.
This meeting looked like it was going to end badly for Poole. Belle Vue proved a tough match and at one point held a 16 point lead in the meeting. However, a strong finish and some valuable 5-1 heat wins made sure that Poole was back in the meeting.
A 5-1 heat win in heat 15 earned Poole a draw and completed a great comeback on the night. Nicolai contributed with paid 9 points.
“I was very lucky to make the meeting, as I just made my flight Sunday night. I couldn’t fly Monday morning as it was a 12:00 start. These day meetings are always difficult because of the time, but we showed some proper Pirates class. Being 16 points down and to get a draw was mega and the boys were awesome. I had my best meeting around Belle Vue too so I was very pleased with my own performance.”
Nicolai is on track tonight in the Danish league, where Holsted welcome Esbjerg with Niels Kristian Iversen in the team.
