Two meetings on two days for Nicolai, where Friday was spent celebrating and Saturday was league business in Poland.
Friday Nicolai took part in colleague and good friend Mads Korneliussen’s testimonial for having spent 10 years with Danish club Outrup (now Region Varde). This was a day of fun and serious racing, with a 4-team format and some sidecar action as well.
Nicolai won the individual final and scored 10 points in total on the night.
“It was great to be a part of Mads’ 10 year testimonial meeting. I was really happy to see so many people turn up to support him and the meeting was excellent too. It was awesome winning it, it gave me a big boost for sure. Was also good to test a few things ahead of Saturday’s GP qualifier which is also in Outrup.”
Yesterday evening Nicolai was in Tarnow, where Ostrow had the hard task of trying to challenge a team who are very strong on their home track. However, Ostrow showed good strength throughout the whole team. They fought hard and ended up winning this very hard away meeting by 43-47.
Nicolai scored paid 8 points on a night which started out very good for him, but it was hard to keep momentum.
“We knew it was going to be very difficult to go there and beat them or to just draw the meeting. They are so good at home! So to get the win was awesome. Points wise I started out really good, but after the big break and my heat win, I lost speed and felt super uncomfortable. Ending the meeting with two last places wasn’t a part of the plan, so that has to be addressed!”
Nicolai get’s a chance of redemption Monday evening, when Poole visit Peterborough in the British Premiership.
